Finally, after training with my mom and everything I got my new vest and patches! I am really a Service Binx, I mean Dog in training for my mom! Mom says that I am learning so fast and doing great! I am staying close to mom when we are walking; she even had my leash in her hand that has a damaged tendon with a splint on it when we went for a walk the other day. I did not pull at all either!

I got to play with my good friend Pagoda at the park last weekend. We had a great time there! Mom brought a tennis ball and we played with that. I even started to herd her, that was a lot of fun! When we went to get the ball that was thrown for us and I would get to it first I grabbed it then dropped it for her to get instead. She was so cute running with that big tennis ball! We met a new friend named Dharma there and played with her too. Boy was I tired when we were done with all that running around! What a great time I had with Pagoda and can't wait to run around the park with her again!

I was so happy to go to class like always yesterday! Mom said I was a little hyper though at first. I guess I did kind of act up, I suppose that I surprised her since I have been doing so good all along! Before class started we walked around the building a bunch of times to calm me down she said. I was more in the mood to play and that is why I was a little hyper! I am a very social Sheltie you know!

Oh my goodness, I saw two real live Black Bears yesterday! We went for a ride yesterday to a place called Christmas, Florida and when we got there we stopped at this store that was the shape of a HUGE alligator! Holy wow! When we got out of the car there were two black bears that were behind a double big fence in the parking lot. With all the training classes that I have been going to and training with Mom the rest of the week I have learned to sit still and be a lot calmer. Mom had my leash and we sat in the parking lot and looked at the bears. I have never seen anything like them!

Holy wow, it has been two weeks of classes since I last wrote about them! My CGC classes are so great! Let’s see, last week my favorite part was the instructor that all of us doggies started to think of as the Chicken Lady! She had real chicken she gave us for treats! You know what I say, yum, yum, gimme some!! I did not even notice when she was petting me AND touching my paws! How about that!! We did a lot of walking around the other dogs for the last two classes and I have to say that I am doing a whole lot better at not stopping to say hello and get my usual sniff of them!

Today I went to my very first CGC (Canine Good Citizenship) training class! It was so much fun! My Mom has a sprained finger so the instructor would not let her walk me around the ring with the other dogs. That meant that I got a different job to do tonight. Mom and I had to sit inside the ring and I had to stay still while the other dogs kept walking in front of me. When I was good and stayed still I got treats, yum! I ended up with a lot of tiny treats that is for sure! I did have a couple of moments though!

I can not believe it, today I got to go the a water park called Cypress Gardens Splash Island. I had so much fun there! My Blake and Gregory went with Mom and I. They mostly lounged around though. My mom and I played the whole time! There was this big pool I got to go into it with no one telling me that furry ones like me can't go in! Mom took me to this big thing that had stairs, we went up them and mom put me onto this weird thing and gave me a little push and I flew down to the bottom in the water, holy wow! I was thinking what the heck was that and where did my mom go!

Hi there to all the fur friends out there! My mom wants to be sure that all the Pet moms out there know that it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month all through October. This is one of the many very important causes for my mom. She said that when she was in her early 20's she had to be have a scary thing called a biopsy on her breast for cancer. I am so glad that she got checked when she saw a problem and it thankfully turned out to be not cancer. Her Doctor at the time said it was very important to have it checked even though she thought she would not have to worry about that at her age then!

Hello all dog families, I had another adventure this past weekend!My mom has this great book called The Dog Lover's Companion to Florida and it is full of great places to go. The new beach we found this time is called Honeymoon Island State Park Beach. It is a dog friendly beach in Dunedin, Florida. It was around 20 miles from Busch Gardens in Tampa. It is $5 per car to get in and the walk from the car to the beach on the path is not far at all. All dogs must be kept on a 6 foot leash at all times.
