Any literary pets out there?

Hi Pets of the World!

Anyone here enjoy a good classic? Stirring poetry? Trashy romance novel?

If so, tell me about it! I'm mainly into 19th century literature, with Nathanial Hawthorne and Oscar Wilde being two of my very favs. Edgar Allan Poe also "shakes me to my bosom's core" every now and then. :)

I'd love to hear from you.

I love curling up by the fire with a good Jack London novel or short story. Have you ever read "To Build a Fire?" That one is sure to cool you off even on the hottest summer day!

I also love James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small series. Nothing like tales of a country vet to warm your heart! Anyone here remember Tricky Woo--one of the dogs in his stories?

Well my mommy read the novel Marley and Me and she loved it and even cried, she said it reminded her a lot like me in several ways.

Oh, I love to read. I'm very versatile with books. I like classics, short stories, poetry, new authors (like John Grisham, Stephen King, and Nora Roberts), animal stories and books, etc.

The reply above... "Oh, I love to read. I'm very versatile with books. It's that first come first serve name issue. Sorry for any confusion. :)

Ooo...let's hear some of your favorites, Dreamer! I bet we have some in common!

Dreamer

Oh man, that's hard to do!

Oh man, that's hard to do! Let's see...some of my favorites....

Dog Related:
White Fang
Marley & Me
The Dog Who Would Be King (stories)
Chicken Soup For the Pet Lover's Soul

Stephen King: (I like some of his older ones)
The Eye of The Dragon
Pet Semetary
Misery

Danielle Steel:
Palomino (was my favorite)
Family Album
Zoya

I like basically all of the Nora Roberts trilogies. I do have one of her mysteries here under the name JD Robb, but haven't read it yet.

John Grisham:
The Firm
The Pelican Brief
Summons (at least so far...almost done with it)

I love most dog poetry. For the older type, I'm an Edgar Allan Poe fan. I think that's enough for now. I, also, love a lot of training books and anything to do with Shelties.

Oh yeah! I loved White Fang, and I'm a big fan of the whole Chicken Soup series--I love to buy them as gifts for people too. Seems like they have one for everybody.

And Edgar Allan Poe! Well, what can I say? He's the master. The Raven in my clan was inspired by his famous poem.

Dreamer

I definitely agree about

I definitely agree about Poe! I love The Raven. I actually bought a book with his poems in it. I love him.

You're right on the Chicken Soup Series. I really like them. There are a few that I want to get. Right now I only have the one, but that will hopefully be changing in the future. I'm always buying books. We have a really nice used book store here that I love go to. I've gotten many books there that looked brand new and, at the most, I've paid was half price of what it would cost in the stores.

The Dummies series is another that I like to keep on hand. I have several of them on dogs, training, and then even on parenting, photography, etc.
