Binx's CGC class update! Oh my Dog, my teacher is the Chicken and Ham lady!

Holy wow, it has been two weeks of classes since I last wrote about them! My CGC classes are so great! Let’s see, last week my favorite part was the instructor that all of us doggies started to think of as the Chicken Lady! She had real chicken she gave us for treats! You know what I say, yum, yum, gimme some!! I did not even notice when she was petting me AND touching my paws! How about that!! We did a lot of walking around the other dogs for the last two classes and I have to say that I am doing a whole lot better at not stopping to say hello and get my usual sniff of them! You know, it is not so easy for a little sniffer like me to walk by and not take a sniff or two!! Ok then, back on track here!!! This last class, you won’t believe what happened! I was laying there by my mom when the teacher was talking at the end of a great class and this hyper dog that was next to us came from behind me and starting trying to get my attention. Well, I will tell you, I was watching my mom then and that dog just came out of nowhere and boy did I let him know that he was not to mess with me when I was busy with my mommy! I barked my fluffy head off and I can’t believe it, my teacher told my mom that I was not doing anything wrong! She said that that other dog got in my face and started it and that all I was doing was letting him know that it was NOT ok to mess with me! The other dog’s dad got him under control real quick and I of course went right straight to my mom. See that, mom has been telling me all along that when that happens I was not supposed to bark like that and turns out I am allowed to let those pesky ones that get into my space no way! Good thing that mom is learning at these classes to, haha!! Oh, this week the teacher was not the Chicken Lady, oh no, she was the Ham Lady this week! Oh boy, I can’t wait to see what she has next class! This week I learned to stay real close by my mommy and walk and she does this hand movement that lets me know when she wants me to stop and sit real close to her. It took a few treats to get that one right because I kept trying to sit a little in the back of her. Now I scoot my furry self right up to her in the front! She thinks I am so cute she says all the time! I am making a lot of progress at classes they are all saying. I just hope that when the test is in the beginning of December that I can sit there nice and still to let the test person touch me and not try to scoot back like I do now. I am trying real hard! Ok, until next week!!!!

Binx that sounds like a lot

Binx that sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe she will be the steak lady one week. Yumm. We had a incident with 2 dogs at our class too. Our trainer always says that we are not to sniff or stare down other dogs. Our people are supposed to be aware of what we are up to as well and not daydream during class. One class there was a lady who let her day dreaming daughter take her border collie. She had a bit of an aggression problem. The dog not the lady. Anyway, we were all lined up at the back and sitting very nicely listening to our instructor when all of a sudden the pitbull to our right and the border collie started a little growling match. Our friend who trains Malinois for protection had his doggy there and wow, we kinda of stepped back out of the way, cause the Malinois decided he needed to protect and went for the pitbull. I of course attached myself to my mommys leg and watched from a distance as I am a lover not a fighter. The instructor had to break it up. Moral of story and scary lesson. Watch your/us doggies at all times and be aware of what is going on around you at all times.

Wow, Binx. If there's

Wow, Binx. If there's chicken involved maybe I should get my mom to sign me up for some classes. I don't like dogs sniffing me either...of course it's okay if I"M the one doing the sniffing...Sounds like you're doing good at your classes.

Hi there Abby and

Hi there Abby and Tinkerbell. You know Abby, that guy that had the dog that started the ruckus got into trouble with the instructor! She told him that he had to pay attention to his dog! And, did you say steak!!!!! What an idea! And Tinkerbell, I bet that you would love the classes like I do. They sure do have the tastiest treats that they bring!! Some people even had hotdogs! I can't wait to see what the Chicken/Ham lady has!!!! I will be sure to tell you about it! :)

I was a stinker in my puppy

I was a stinker in my puppy education class. I wouldn't even take treats from Mom during class. Boy did I have to keep my eye on that lot! I hope maybe in my next class I can be braver like you, Binx. I have FINALLY learned to sit when Mom does her hand cue. Just because Pippi learned that one in five minutes Mom thinks it should not have taken me three or four months. Mom says it's a good thing I'm so cute. It offsets the stubborness. BOL

Chicken! Ham! Sign me up!!

Chicken! Ham! Sign me up!! I love classes anyway, and if someone is handing out great treats like that, oh boy. You lucky dog you. I'm jumping up and down all excited just hearing about it. Can't wait to hear about the next class as well.

Cheeky, once you get into it and relax you will love it! Don't worry, you will get the hang of it as you get a little older! And you Pippi, you just crack me up! I can so see you jumping up and down like that!! I sure will tell you about Tuesday's class! :)
